Tina Fey Signs multi-million dollar book deal

Tina Fey is a hot hot commodity in Hollywood and she has now signed an exclusive book deal - after her recent Emmy triumph sparked a bidding war between the worlds leading publishers.
The 30 ROCK creator swept the board at the Primetime Emmy Awards last month (Sep08), picking up gongs for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress. Publishers soon realized the prospects of having Fey on their roster and began a bidding war. Fey has now signed with publisher the Little, Brown Book Group, in a deal that is rumored to be worth $5 million or more. According to New York gossip column PageSix, the book will not be Feys memoir, but will be “non-fiction humour” to fit in with the stars performance style on Americas Saturday Night Live, where she has recently returned to raves for her dead-on impersonations of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Kevin Bacon to develop and star as John Wilkes Booth

Kevin Bacon is partnering with Showtime that centers on the man who would eventually assassinate Abraham Lincoln. “The Booths” will revolve around actor-brothers Edwin, Junius Brutus Jr. and John Wilkes Booth and their dysfunctional relationship in the years prior to Lincoln’s assassination. They were sons of British Shakespearean actor Junius Brutus Booth and actress Mary Ann Holmes. The three brothers performed together just once, in a New York showing of “Julius Caesar” in 1864. John Wilkes Booth eventually became a rabid defender of the South and clashed with his brother Edwin. John, of course, shot Lincoln at Ford’s Theatre while the President was watching the play “Our American Cousin” on April 14, 1865.

Development is still in the early stages on “The Booths”; Showtime hasn’t yet brought in an outside production shingle. No writer is yet attached, but Bacon will exec produce for the cabler. Bacon has previously helmed the Showtime telepic “Losing Chase.” Showtime is no stranger to period drama, having aired “The Tudors,” among other shows.

A bevy of glamorous and successful Hollywood women stars came together in LA last night for ELLE Magazine’s 15th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute. Nicole Kidman, Isla Fisher and Halle Berry were among the honorees of the event held at at The Four Seasons in LA,. Other notables honored last night included Jane Fonda, Sigourney Weaver, Anne Hathaway, and more… Congratulations to all the honorees and all the rest who came out to support their friends in Hollywood and pose together in some gorgeous dresses.

Gemma Arterton lines up alongside Sir Roger Moore and current Bond Daniel Craig

An entire host of Bond stars turned out to an event on Sunday to pay tribute to Bond author Fleming, including former 007 star Roger Moore and the current Bond, Daniel Craig. A bevy of former Bond Girls also made an appearance, including Caroline Munro and Madeline Smith. Gemma Arterton was also on hand for the London party to mark the end of author Ian Fleming’s centenary year. The 22-year-old showed off her curvaceous figure in a stunning gold dress.

Arterton beat out competition from 1,500 other hopefuls to get the role as the latest Bond Girl in Quantum of Solace - the 22nd film, which will be released on November 14. Beauty comes in many forms and Gemma started out life with a few unique features. She tells Esquire magazine at the party: ‘I was born with lots of deformities.’ She revealed she was born with six fingers on each hand. The extra fingers were ‘tied’, which causes them to fall off naturally. ‘It’s my little oddity that I’m really proud of. It makes me different.’ Earlier this year, she revealed she was also born with a crumpled ear, which was corrected through surgery.
Gema also revealed she moved her new Spanish boyfriend Eduardo Munoz into her two-bedroom flat in Crouch End, north London this month. The actress met the 19-year-old 6ft 2in action man on the Moroccan set of the $100 million blockbuster Prince Of Persia in August, where he was employed to teach her how to ride horses. They hit it off immediately, despite the language barrier. But she has now had to hire a translator to help them understand each other better.

If you believe a brief sound bite, Hugh Hefner and his main squeeze Holly Madison have ended their 7 year relationship. Holly was bantering with a TMZ reporters when the camera man joked that he wanted to go to the Playboy mansion for Halloween. To which Holly replied, “I have no pull anymore. Hef and I arent together.”

I am wondering though if she was joking or being sarcastic in response to all the rumors? My suspicions were raised because as soon as she blurted the “Hef and I arent together” comment the video stops. Did she follow it with “Just kidding,” which TMZ conveniently failed to show us? It’s nothing against TMZ but clever editors wanting to get a sensational story have done worse. Let’s see if there is a follow-up statement from Hef or Holly’s rep today. Of course if Holly is in Vegas this weekend with her rumored flame Criss Angel that would seal the deal as well. And of course the “break up” could just be for press. This should now play out soon. Anne Hathaway, who is generating buzz for her performance in Rachel Getting Married, has reportedly signed for a role in the classic Lewis Carroll story Alice in Wonderland, which Tim Burton is directing for Disney

Burtons fiancee Helena Bonham Carter, has also has joined the film. The movie, features Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter.

Hathaway who guest hosted on ‘Saturday Night Live’ this past weekend, is playing the White Queen, a benevolent monarch who is deposed and banished by her sister, the Red Queen (Carter), who has an affinity for crying out, Off with their heads! The White Queen needs Alice to slay a creature known as the Bandersnatch.

The Devil Wears Prada actress is set to next appear in the horror thriller Passengers. Rachel Getting Married, an acclaimed drama in which Hathaways character disrupts her sisters wedding, opened promisingly in limited release last weekend. Carter recently teamed with Depp, last year in Burtons Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

Alice, which is due for release in 2010, will mix live action with animation and will be in 3D.
