7-25-easy-chair-1.jpg They've been spotted on Dityfleur's Deck, but we had to share this colorful photo featuring Jerszy Seymour's stacking Easy Chairs. Produced by Magis, these polypropylene chairs are suitable for outdoor use, but chic enough for indoor use, too...

Slow Sunday Resurgence
By: Apartment Therapy    0 days 0 hours 42 minutes ago
Channel: Living
laund72508.jpgIn our small-town youth, Sunday really rested. Stores were closed, TV was unwatchable and most of what you absolutely had to have waited until Monday. And it was good (often boring, but good). Twenty-four-hour culture has long since mutated Sunday into another day of unrest. Even much of the green dialogue revolves around buying. So what if we reclaimed Sunday as a day to consume, use and operate less?

Green, sure, but it would also have an impact on our own well-being, relationships and awareness of what we really need. Or dont. So says Resurgence, an earnest, old-school magazine that calls for a collective Slow Sunday once a month. Are you in? It started with even greater amibition. UK-based Resurgence first advanced Green Sundays, a personal weekly elimination of all non-essential fossil fuel use to produce a cumulative positive impact on the earth and your life in general. Now it's a monthly event with a theme, and begins this Sunday. The debut notion: Making bread by hand, as opposed to buying as shipped and preserved in-store. bread72508.jpg
How do you make bread?
Never absolutists, we are ready to join the endeavor in spirit, if not specifics. Eighty-five degrees is a little hot to preheat the oven. We do pledge to buy nothing, log on less (gotta start somewhere) and take all Sunday drives via bicycle. Ready to give Sunday a well-deserved rest? Sit and Read Furniture
By: Apartment Therapy    0 days 1 hours 17 minutes ago
Channel: Living
0725_sit2.jpg We heard about Sit and Read Furniture from an AT reader. They're a great local Brooklyn dealer in Early American and Mid-Century furniture. Their website is so friendly - simply browse through photos of their furniture finds: if the photograph is in color, the piece is still available...

We loved the chairs from a shaker dining set pictured up top. However, if the piece has been sold, the photo is displayed in black and white (as with the beautiful Danish modern dresser pictured below). Drats! We'll be sure to watch Sit and Read, as we're tending to like all of the pieces they sell and their prices seem very fair. Check them out in person once a month at the Brooklyn Flea.(Thanks, Andrea!)
